JohnnyDoran.com has just been launched.

The website celebrates the musical genius of Johnny Doran (1908-1950) and other Irish Traveller musicians. Doran was an Irish Traveller who brought the playing of Ireland’s only indigenous instrument, the uilleann pipes, to a unique and extraordinary level.

Visitors to the site are also able to purchase the book “Free Spirits” – which chronicles the life, times and influences of the famous Irish travelling families on Irish Life over many decades. It’s a must read!

The site’s owner, Tommy Fegan, has given us the following comment:
